What auto shifters are you running and why do you like it? Post any pics or videos if you have any.
My brother is wanting to upgrade the factory shifter in his '79. It's just too easy to overshift. I'm trying to talk him into Hurst's Quarterstick, because I'm sure it would work in his console. I retro-fitted one into my console and love this thing! It's impossible to overshift and it doesn't have ratchet action.

Oh yell. If I still had that one, I would have never bought my vette. It was a SS454, 4 speed, bench seat, 3.31 gear,Cowl induction LS5. 3000 or less produced
Turbo Action competition shifter in my Hemi Cuda and I use the stock Camaro shifter in the BB Camaros of which one is a reverse action shifter driven through by a LS7 454.....
Jimvette,
What year is your Vette and what shifter is that? The install is plenty clean by my standards, so what mods did it take to get it to fit? Are you happy with the shifting? I've been wanting to upgrade my TH400 shifter for many years now to prevent missed shifts in manual mode. Thanks.

Thank you Les. My 76 has the Hurst Pistol Grip. I had to deform the floor pan and open the gate up to get it to fit. I also modified the rev. lock out lever and the shift lock lever & buy a longer or shorter cable... I don't recall why. I'm happy with the shifter and was glad to get rid of the push button/ball factory shifter. It'll take ya half a day to put it in.
Jim
Very happy with it, I had grand dreams of whacking through the gears but in reality I am lazy and just shift normally lol...... But it will bang through from 1st on up if I want to. Putting in the 700 was the single best improvement I could ever do, and the shifter fits very neatly in the console.
Hi guys, im new on the forum. Im ongoing with the restoring of my 1969 Corvette, i have installed a TH400 tranny instead of the M20, i have bought the Automatic shifter console and all, and im about to find out witch shifter i wan't to buy, i Really like the Quarterstick / pistol grips. But how did you guys mount the shifter do you have any pictures of this. Im very interrested in this and maybe a part list of things needed to do so.
