Not to get away from the topic,but...what do you do when the original numbers are no longer legibal because of rust?
....I always look at these VIN#s on frames stacked at Carlisle. In plain daylight out there, it's tough enough to decipher VINs on nice, clean frames out in the open let alone on a car with the body on it.
...a scalely or pretty rusty frame would almost, if not be impossible to read.
