Is there a way to tell what the backspacing is on a set of TT's? A guy here has a set of - TT's bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75. The tires are Hankook Ventus ST 255/50R 17. I want to put them on my stock '69.
He is a 6 hour drive, so i can't test fit very easily. Can the backspacing be measured with a tape measure?
You lay a straight edge across the backside of the rim and measure down to the mounting surface.
Just make sure you make it clear to the seller to make sure he measures from the wheel lip not from the tire bulge. I'm sure you know but you're looking for an 8" wide wheel with 4" of backspace. Did he tell you what they came off of ?

Good advice and ask for pics, everyones definition of "excellent condition" tends to vary ALOT! have any friends or Forum members that live close by the seller who could check out the wheels for you?
