Default Upgrade and/or simplify engine wiring?

Replacing a 427 with a 496 in my 70 C3. The car has no options - no AC, PS, PB, electric windows, etc., just a 4 speed and 4.11 rear (that I'll probably destroy quickly ). The car is far from stock already so I'm not concerned about keeping anything original, it will be mine when I'm done and it will be exactly how I want it.

Going to use a gilmer drive belt system and Dewitt's radiator kit with dual fans. Replaced the Mallory dual points distributor with billet MSD tach drive and will probably go with a programmable MSD 6 series brain for future nitrous control. Looking at alternators now and would like to use a 1-wire setup to keep things as simple as possible.

While the 427 is out of the engine compartment, I want to clean up and/or upgrade the wiring. The previous owner used a lot of black tape and convoluted tubing to tidy things up, I was trained by the Navy to perform electronics repair and can do better.

Can anyone help me with a minimalist wiring schematic for the engine compartment of this car or point me to a schematic for another car that will work without a lot of trial and error? Mine will be a street car so I need to keep the headlights, turn signals, horn, etc., but I'd like to rewire the whole engine bay to make things as neat as possible. Conversion to a 1-wire alternator got this thought started and if I'm going to change some of the wiring, might as well do it once and do it right.

Thanks!!
