1981 Corvette. Will the Eldebrock instake Manifold, 2116 fit under the hood, This is the intake which fits Vortec heads, Eldebrock web site says it won't but what does it take to make it? The carb will be a quadrajet, I have the OEM air cleaner and an aftermarket chrome 14" I want to run the Vortec heads, need an intake. What air cleaner do you need? Thanks Al
It would likely work if you use a drop base air cleaner. It's difficult to say absolutely, but many have used Edelbrock and other make intakes not supposed to fit by being creative with air cleaner configurations.

I'm running the performer intake on eldebrock 202 heads and a eldebrock 750 cmf carb. eldebrock sells a drop base through sumitt that fit real well, no issues. I went with the triangle shaped base that came with a K&N filter.even took some flat aluminum and cut it to fit the front of the filter so it deflects some of the hot air off the rad... looks good too.
I placed the order today, I have a spare set of Votec heads sitting on the shelf. I may as well use them. I think the new heads and the new intake could clean up the engine bay some. I will try to order a new filter once I measure the distance needed for clearance. Al
