Polished Wheels And More
Over spring break I polished my wheels. Spent about 3 to 4 hours on each wheel sanding and polishing. (Mostly by hand.) I then repainted the centers black and I also put a swept fin spinner kit from ecklers on. I bought stock emblems and trimmed them down to fit into the centers. I liked that look much more than the other emblems made for the spinners. I also got new emblems for the door handles, repainted the handle, and repainted the trim area with lock and unlock. Here are some links.

I think the wheels are much nicer polished and I recommend putting the time into them. I'd like to keep working on their shine and make them even nicer. I have better pics of the spinners, but I left them at home.

Sounds better than the spring breaks I had. I usually had to work 8-10 hr/day during break. At least you got to something you like.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I do love the look of highly polished wheels. I've been able to keep my stock wheels bright, after the original clear coat started to go bad and I removed it, with Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish. Be very careful with the "one step" chemicals you find on the shelves at Wal-Mart or wherever. I've found that some can really dull a shiny finish on spruced-up aluminum wheels; almost to the point of flat-out corrosion.
I said I like shiny wheels, right? :) Here's the new set of 17 inchers that I have on order now (the photo is a digital mock-up). UPS has them and they're due here in a few days. Can't wait! :D

They're Boyd's Bitchin' series, model Genesis 5. Here's a close-up.

Thanks for the compliments. Noel, I like the choice of wheels you're going with. Judging from the pic, they're going to make your car look really sweet. Xfactor, I didn't spend too much time on the chrome of the door handles. I did use some Turtle Wax chrome polish though. Thought it looked pretty much the same before and after though. I like working on the little details. They are fun projects. I also took off all the emblems and repainted them, they look so much better. I also pulled out the heater/ac panel, repainted that, and put a clear lens over it. It was nice to have a week completely by myself, I actually got stuff done.
