First post!! I have a 1981, FINALLY bypassed the 'puter on the thing with an HEI w/ vacuum advance (Awesome!!! Thanks for all the good info from the forum!! ) But yesterday went for an early AM drive, and the headlights come up, but don't light, nor do the high beams. Everything else, gauges etc are fine... just no headlamps to see with! Owner's manual says there is a circuit breaker at the switch, and indeed I can't find a fuse in the fusebox. Has anyone dealt with this before, is there a separate breaker or fuse somewhere?)
Check to see if you are getting power at the dimmer switch,if you are the dimmer is most likely the problem.
If your not getting power at the dimmer or the HL switch then you might have popped the fusible link for the headlights. Its down at the starter.
The circuit breaker in the HL switch almost always resets itself after an overload.
