Default Adding a PS Pump to BBC

Hey guys, quick question: I want to add a PS pump to my BBC for the addition of a steeroids and hydroboost but I'm not familiar with what pump or bracket I need. Can anyone ID this for me from the pictures?

Thanks for your time.

My BB has a belt in that back groove- runs from the crank to the water pump. Only way to change it is pull the fan. The front groove runs from the crank to the water pump, and then to the rear groove on the PS pump. And a short belt runs from the front groove on the PS to the alternator.

Looks like I can run the same belt configuration.

Then it should be as simple as a bracket and a pump, right?

Something like: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-340300/ ?

I believe my water pump is a short pump.

No reason you can't use that setup. It may change your belt locations so I'd look for that.
I have the original BB brackets- I think the vendors have the original style brackets and bolts.

OK seriously. How does one go about figuring out the right configuration for their particular engine/setup?

I have racked my brain and browsed Zips/Summit/Jegs for 3 days trying to figure out how to order everything in 1 shot and get it right the first time.

At this point I'd spend $2k on a March serpentine setup as long as I knew it would be correct.

I don't know if this helps but here's what the 72 Big Block belt setup looks like. One on the left is without A/C like yours.

Corvette Central seems to have a kit with everything needed to install a pump, including the pump and Alternator brackets for $439. You still have to find the belts but with the stock setup you've got a good headstart. Here's the link:

This thread had some pictures that show the idler on the 454 with AC: Link

I might just have to bite the bullet and try the linked kit. The way my alt is mounted right now wouldn't work with that belt/pulley configuration, but I have to assume that the brackets in a kit like that move it to a different position.

Thanks

Well, here's a shot I just took of the front of my BB with PS and AC. It isn't tensioned or locked down with nut and washer.

Here's how the pump and idler pulley attach to the big block.

Corvette Central has the pulley and mounting stud. You should be sitting down before you open this link to the parts...

It is supposed to have a nut and washer on there to lock it in place. Looks like there is a spare bolt under your crank pulley.

Camera turns out to be handier than I thought (fits in places too small for my head). Couldn't see that bolt even though I heard it hit the frame.

In my test fit with the stock style bracket kit, the alternator pulley inteferes with the upper radiator hose! Is this common? Is there another hose with a sharper bend, or is something else setup wrong?

You need to turn the radiator hose so that the bend is nearly laying against the radiator. Mine was more straight up and down and was almost hitting the alternator pulley.

This isn't a very good picture but I think you can see the hose bend laying close to the radiator.
