wiper / headlight vacum
Does anyone know if the wipers in a 80 vette are vacuum assisted?
I cant get wipers to work, they worked for a couple minutes then stoped can it be that relay switch in the storage compartment? Also if i open one headlight by hand the second will open by itself guess i have a vacuum problem. this seems a little tough to fix, anyone know of any good books on these systems?
I've havent been into fixing up cars for about 25 years
this vette was my dads and bought new in 80 need to fix it up and keep it in the family!! Great to be back doing this!

The wipers are not vacuum assisted.

And.. there are two videos at this link that may help you. Use the 1969-1972 video. Your motor test pretty much the same way.
On your headlight issue.. it sounds as if you have a vacuum leak in the system. Either one of the hoses or one of the parts in the system is defective. Check the connections for cracks and make sure the relay and actuators are working properly. Also make sure the vacuum can is not leaking between the two headlamp housings.
