maybe consider the edelbrock top end kit with e-tec heads and performer rpm cam, maybe 1.6 rockers. it will never make enough power, and you will always wish you had done something different to get more power.

so so very true.... power is like a drug, very addictive..

if I were to do it over I would have gone forced induction..... I think about 800hp would be enough!!1 p:-)

I looked at the heads... they look nice..... you can go about 10.5:1 with cast heads, and 11:1 with aluminum heads. go with the Beehive springs from Comp cams. the stroker kit you are looking at is, OK..... it is not forged and thus not as strong... you can put about 500hp on that crank, but you can never spray or go blower with those pistons and I would say that crank... if Hyper pistons get "PING" they break easily...

But if you go this direction, with the higher compression pistons, cam, HEADS, good exhaust and intake.... yes, you may achieve your 450hp goal.

I went from a Edelbrock carb to a Mighty Demon, and picked up about 20tq, and 10hp....
with a 2gpm loss in fuel economy... currently at about 10mpg...

well... I do live in so cal.... but even on the coldest of winter mornings, she starts instantly, idle is a little rough for about 30-60 sec.... but after that....hold on!!! doing a sustained 2-3 second burnout going from 1st to 2nd... is..... fun:-).....
dont need any choke restricting the down flow... p:-)

hi all thought id post n say im doin well with my parts list. ordering it all tuesday hopefully.
going well. forged pistons hydrolic roller cam, edelbrock performer rpm manifold, afr 1036 heads. going with a 400 transmission. still unsure bour the dis and the carb. spoilt for choice. i know with the dis ill need an ignition kit. gotta figure that out. but alls going well and think im on target for a good engine with alot of power. i like the idea of a 750 mighty demon carb but not sure which one as there is one model with annular boosters n one without. im not sure which one i need or how to decide. i also think i have the right dis with this model http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-850050T/ with this ignition box http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8500/ and i think to use tht ill also need this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-850014/. if u cud let me no if im right cheers scott.
