Default Electrical woes

Basically i have the same problems as this guy does : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...post1573948905

But i may know where the problem started at least. I was replacing the starter in my 79, had the battery disconnected. i wired up the new starter but didn't mount it to the block yet because i wanted to test it. Reconnected the battery and the started worked just fine. ( i had it resting on two jack stands). Then i disconnected the wires for the starter, forgot to disconnect the battery again (very very foolish) and BAM! the wires to the starter came in contact with the frame...sparks flew and then no electrical whatsoever. The battery is still good. I looked at all my fuses and they are good as well, at least the ones under the driver side.

I am still looking for the fuseable links, but i am having trouble locating them. It should also be mentioned that my vette isn't stock, it has a LS6 454 (not installed by me), don't know if that makes a difference but hopefully the previous owner did it right. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
