A Day at the Track
Cecil County. IRS rear.
A guy told me that a bad day at the track is better than a good day at work.

Yeah wish I could launch like that, what have you done to the rear end components ?
I do put on a show though, spinning the tires to 3/4 track is always entertaining

4.11 Duntov Rear differential
3" half shafts
Heavy duty spindles
solid u-joints
racing steel 5-leaf spring
QA1 adjustable shocks
heim strut bars
offset trailing arms
safety loops
I gathered most of the ideas from the Forum.
Weird, in that the higher rpm I launch, the more traction I get.

My 60 ft was 3 sec and ran 112mph through the traps
I went back down the return road and didn't stop til I got home

C'mon...it can't be that top secret! Give us the scoop. Run down the engine combo again and the time slips!

NICE ETs! What trap speed? Raceweight?
It probably hooks better leaving at a higher RPM because the converter is not flashing as hard and thus not hitting the tires as hard/quick....if you can get it to bite, you will probably 60' better flashing the converter from a fast idle. 10.60s is awesome for a street car.....I hope to get there in the fall after a full IRS rebuild.

3450lb w/driver
All in all, I think it could use more cam duration. Gonna stick in a bigger one over the summer.

Damn that 434" is making some power. 126mph at 3450lb has got to be close to 600hp at the crank....maybe you need a little more converter to get it below a 1.50 60'?? Something with around 4500-4700 flash....especially if you go bigger on the cam....
Your car is rolling though, I would be quite happy with it....especially for a street car. 10.60 would be sweet....
