Insofar as your engine specs sound a lot like mine, here's my guess:

Hey Noel, that has got to be the crispest timeslip I've ever seen, most(including mine) either come out a little blurry or light.

I would guess mid 12's to low 13's if you can get a good launch. Make sure your brakes, especially the rear ones are in good shape. You'll need them to hold you on the line while you load up against the convertor after staging and are waiting for the green. Actually leave the momment you see the third yellow. Try to hold the car just before brake stall speed. When its time to go, simultaniously release the brake and slam the throttle. Pray that your tires hook up. Traction off the line will most likely be the limiting factor. I found that even with my street tires, reducing to 20psi helped traction. I increased the pressure in the front tires for less rolling resistance. Shift up at 5500rpm should be good for your setup.

If those estimates of close to 500 lbs of torque are correct you should be in the 12s no problem. I would think with some practice and good tires you should be in the low 12s. I think the performer intake is a little restrictive for your setup. I think the RPM performer would be better but if hood clearance is an issue I can see why. I am at 12.7 at 110 right now and I have around 420 HP and I think around 440 torque. You should be a little better if you can hook it up. I started at 13.6 at 106 with this combo and by driving better I was able to lower it a lot.

I don't want to sound pessimistic but I think your around 30-40 HP too high. You need around 10-15 more degrees duration in cam and around a 3,000 stall converter. With your extra cubic inches and the good flowing heads the 1 5/8 " headers are to small go with a 1 3/4" primary. Just my .02 cents worth. Deen

Thanks all. I tend to agree on the exhaust. 1 5/8 may be to small. Since they have not been purchased, I'll probably go with the 1 3/4. Even if I loose a little tq down low, launching will be easier and the top end will be improved.

Since all of these numbers were generated by a computer, not real world, they are suspect. The canfield heads have great flow numbers and they have been ported and gasket matched to flow even better. Comparing these to AFR's, they outflow a STOCK 195 head. With a 218/223 cam, AFR's made 440hp and 470tq. Stepping up, a 230/236 cam made 491hp and 501 tq. my DD guestimated numbers are right in there.I could go to a larger cam, but street manners are very important.( the ol' lady wants to drive too) I would hate to spend all this cash and end up with great specs and no guts.

They must have changed the ribbon on the printer that night. :)

The only thing I could figure about the 1/8 mile speed is that at half track the other car and I were neck and neck. Perhaps that confused the timing system.

Regarding prepping graphics for display on the web in general, one trick I've found that helps is to scan the image at a much higher resolution than needed, correct exposure, sharpen, then downsample the image as the last step. I use Adobe Photoshop and Irfan View.

I think he did say Performer RPM.

anyway Newonad your setup is almost exactly mine

Check out my sig for details...

I havent run the track yet with this motor but from the feel I would guess high 12s. With my wide ratio M20 I can do 0-60 in 1st gear.. :D in about 4 - 4.5 seconds. I have 3.36 rear and this is killing my launch. I want 3.73 or 3.90s.

That's close for sure. We are still in the process of purchasing all the misc parts to complete this. I cant wait!! Sure do hope the DD numbers are close. Looking at your rear wheel numbers, it may be. I'm taking the computer dyno with a grain of salt however. We want to be mid 12's or less.

Misread the Performer rpm. Tuning is the key. Just because the numbers say 450 HP does not mean you are getting that. I know there is a lot more in my car. I have to get to the dyno and get it tuned. You should be in the 12s wit out a problem

Your combo sounds a LOT like mine, except my 388 has AFR 195s instead of Canfields, and my 224/230 cam is a hydraulic roller, my carb is a 750 double pumper Speed Demon. I have the Dynomax 1 5/8" headers. I estimate 450 hp. I'm redoing it this winter, going up a couple cam sizes (if you haven't put the motor together yet, I highly recommend you go with at least a 230/236 ish cam - I'm going with 236/242). Anyways, with a crummy suspension (9 leaf, stock springs, KYB shocks, street alignment, 255/60/15 Radial T/As, stock 3.08 rear), I ran a 12.8@108. My ignition system needed some work, and my carb wasn't tuned to perfection, so there was potential for at least 110-112 in my 3500 lbs '76. That was with a 2200 stall 700r4 as well.

Anyways I'm selling my heads and moving up to some AFR 210s, going with a Holley Stealth Ram EFI system, a 236/242 hydraulic roller, hoping for a 500 hp beast which pulls to 6500 no problem, and low 12s or high 11s with some 275/60/15 drag radials. I've now upgraded to 4.11s, VB&P smart struts & dual mount rear spring, HAL adjustable shocks, and a X pipe exhaust. I have pics and info and things I would have done differently on my website:
