Is anybody familiar with the HelmINC shop manual portfolios? I have purchased the factory assembly manual for the 75 vette, the owners manual, the Haynes manual for 68 thru 82 vettes and the Chilton manual for 68 thru 82 vettes. They are all helpful but none are as specific or detailed as I had hoped. Will the HelmPassenger Car Shop Manual Portfolio be a worthwhile addition or just more of the same? Is there some other source that is more focused on and specific to the 75 vette?
I am an absolute fan of the GM Service Manual for your car! It will give information that the other manuals only gloss over. I like the Chilton's 68-82 for light duty stuff, but if you really want to know how Mr. Goodwrench fixes your car get the GM reprint. A good source is our friends at http://www.ncrs.org. Call them directly and you will have your book in 3-4 days. You already have a great start on your library  Now just complete it with the GM book. You won't regret it.

Yes, there is no comparison to the Helm manuals. These are the ORIGINAL shop manuals. Helm produced them for GM. Go to the Helm site to purchase. They are much less expensive than buying them through Ecklers, etc. Mine was $60. Ecklers and such wanted as much as $109 fo the exact same manual!!!!
I bought an overhaul manual form a guy that sells OEM manuals. You can be old manuals, not reprints. They are used, but in GREAT shape and at a fraction of the cost. I got mine for like $15 vs the 40+ I sometimes see it at.
I can't remember the guy now. Anyone know this guy?
Noskillz has it right! Good bus to deal with! Trade a few finger prints (for used) for $$ savings!! If you don't see what you want on their web site, call and ask. Happy reading -Rod :chevy
I'm very happy to say that my dad bought the original chevrolet manual and AIM shortly after he bought the vette. He never used either one of them, but they have come in very handy for me.

I use my GM manual all the time, the only trouble is, mine does not have any engine torque specs in it! No pages are missing, and I've gone from one end to the other looking... WTF??? I've ordered the Helms...
I hvae noticed in my Chassis Overhaul manual that it does say "torque to spec" in several places, but does not tell what the spec is. Maybe it's in another place or manual?
Don't even bother with the Chilton or Haynes, they are too general. You need two books to take care of your car. One is the AIM which you already have and the "Factory Service Manual" published by Helm. You can order direct from Helm as mentioned or pick up a used on on eBay for a good price. Not sure about '75 but for my '73 Helm produced two manuals: the Service Manual and the Overhaul Manual. Service Manual will cover 90+% of what you will need. The Overhaul Manual covers details such as transmission overhaul.
