Default Tight Lug Nuts Wanted

I went to NAPA the other day and bought a set of 10 lugnuts.
I got home, tried them on, and they were looser than a 42nd Street hooker. I mean well over .010 side to side deflection!

Thinking that my studs might have been worn, I tried one of them on a brand new stud. Better, but I could still feel side to side defection easily by hand.

So tell me... who sells nice tight lug nuts? Seriously.

Rear wheels.
I just walked into NAPA and asked for 10 Chevy lugnuts for a '68 Vette.
These fit so big they feel "metric".

I meant style of wheel.
Steel or later C3 aluminum.
Definitely got the wrong lugs, if you tighten em up you're gonna screw up the studs. There should be no looseness at all. What's wrong with the old ones?
Bring one into Napa and talk to a different guy!

NEWER Chevy lugnuts ARE metric, guy probably can't tell between 68 and 08.

Curious what size wrench fits them. What fits better, 19MM or 3/4"?

You need 7/16 x 20 lug nuts. It sounds like the clerk gave you 12x1.5 metric. Many have the size printrd on them.

Try some McGard lug nuts. They come in all styles to fit all wheels, and they are chrome plated and guaranteed not to rust and their quality is tops. Great even if they are covered up. I put some on the front of my Ford 800 farm tractor about 7 years ago. It sits outside year-round and there is no rust yet. And they were inexpensive, too. Go online to McGard and you'll find all of their products, or call Summit or Jeg's.

Have you tried going to a Chevy dealer, they should have the lugnuts you are looking for, you might pay a little more for them but if they fit better it might be worth it...

Like "Rotonda" said you need 7/16" x 20 lug nuts...

McGuard is by far the best quality. They also have the best mag wheel washers in their stainless steel washer kit. Wouldn't use anything else on a fast Vette.

I'm sure you've got the right lugnuts, just poor quality.
