I had my ac correctly charged by a ac tech but I cant get the cold air blowing into the passenger compartment. The ac compressor in the engine bay wont turn on by using the climate control system. I did jump it to get the 3lbs in the system. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to look at next.
I have tried several climate controls so I would think thats not the problem and all the wiring harness is new.

check the high pressure cutoff switch, make sure the connection is on it.

Not sure that there is one the 71's if so where do I located. Could it be the ac blower resistor located at the top of the ac box on the firewall? I,m getting 12v at the connection on the compressor before actually plugging in the connection but the compressor clutch wont engage.
I had the same problem with my 71, except mine stayed on all of the time.. Could be the AC Relay mounted under the dash on the passenger side...The relays are not available anymore so I wired in a standard Bosch relay..works perfect ever since..There are 2 relays that affect the compressor, the AC relay and an anti dieseling relay. You can do without the anti dieseling relay..
If there is not 12 volts going to the compressor when the AC is turned on, it has to be a bad switch or switch out of adjustment, or a bad relay..
Here is my original post...
You need to look at a wiring diagram and figure out why you don't have 12v at the compressor. Could be a fuse, could be a switch, could be a loose wire/broken wire/disconnected wire, etc. Trace it out electrically and you should find it.
Markdtn thanks for the response. I do have 12v at the green wire for the compressor and all the wiring in the car is new. Keeping a volt meter at the connection while plugging it in to the compressor----- makes it go to zero volts (no blown fuse). Take it off the conection and check---- there is the 12 volts again.
CORVETTETODD I think thats the direction that I will be going in its got to be one of the two relays or some grounding with those relays. I attached a pic of those relays. I currently have no interior in the car exccept certain essentials to get the electrical working steering colomn, main duct, all harness's wiper control, light switch and so on. I have EVERYTHING WORKING minus only the cold ac air.
Possibly the plus and minus are mixed up at the compressor or maybe the diode is backwards. Could be that relay, but I am puzzled why you have power with no load. Could be bad contacts. I would straight wire it out and see if that fixes it before I changed it.
