... Were you looking for a portable tent-type garage? Have you checked page 398 in the new 2002 Canadian Tire catalogue? There are a couple there for price comparisons...
Thanks for the tip! It's funny, I was reading the Canadian Tire catalogue over breakfast. (The Wife loves that!) My dilemma is that I have a double-wide, shared driveway. So I only have 8-9' in width to work with before my neighbour can legitimately get angry. The units in the CTC catalogue are 11' wide. So the search continues. I may have to get one custom made. And quite frankly I am not even sure a Corvette will fit into an 8-9' unit. I do not have my car out of storage yet to do the measurements. As a fallback, I could sell the house and buy one with a double garage ;) .

I did sime quick calc's from the dimetions part of the "restoration package" and the '79 is about 8.6 feet wide with one door open, and 11.4 feet wide with both doodrs open... A few specs for ya to use... But if you'r gonna sell the house, might as well get one with a 3car garage, need room for a couch, TV, PC w/internet, beer fridge... :D
Thanks Des. One door open is fine. The price is so reasonable (just a little more than my Noah car cover) it got me to thinking. The structure would be a summer thing as my car is indoors in commercial storage during the winter. As well I would not imagine that it would handle the snow load here.
The unit (seen below) would be placed on asphalt. Now the question for those who might have something similar. The catalogue says 11' wide and I have 9' to work with. Can the aluminum framing be persuaded (aka bent) inwards one foot on each side? And then secured to the asphalt by lag bolts? I do not know how they are secured so that is just a guess. Comments would be appreciated. The Wife says that we are not selling the house.
