Default What to do with my two vettes....help?

I am starting from the ground up on a 69 rebuild and found my frame to be bent. I have a 72 with a good frame and I figured if it's going to have a 72 frame it's never going to match again anyway so I'm thinking I'd like to have a vert body instead. I really only need the bird cage or main part of the body but would be interested in hearing about what ever you guys might have or think. I have even considered cutting the top off of the 72. I don't want to spend the money to restore either to new condition, I also don't like the original color of either. (silver and some golden yellow color) The 69 is a 427, 4spd, AC car and the 72 is a 454 auto (don't know if it had ac). What do you guys think? What should I do? I can build one out of the two but neither would be correct. I need some help here, I need ideas. I even thought about scraping both and selling them off as parts. They are both rough but not unrestorable. The bird cage on the 72 appears to have some rot in the door jam area as someone put some bondo in there. The 69 appears to have all good metal other than the frame being bent.

thanks
VC

If the frame is relatively rust free, just have it straightened. If that won't work, I think I'd sell them both and buy one descent driver or restorable vert.
Changing a coupe to a vert can be done and certainly easier than the same process on a steel car. BUT you will need the entire rear portion of the car including the VIN and title if you want it to be even close to correct.

Simplifying your decision process by uncomplicating things...I will, out of kindness and consideration, take one of the big blocks off your hands! :jester
Seriously... build the 69.. :yesnod: :yesnod:

Just wanted to clear up a couple things here.

The 72 has no motor. The 69 has a 69 400hp motor (LQ block) but the car was originally a 69 390 hp.

Also I have the use of a nice sized body shop for the next 3-4 months and the guidance of a man who has been restoring vettes for 20+ years.

As far as the whole rear panel, that would not be a problem as I have seen them for sale in the vette mags (Eklers, Corvette Central) and the comment above this one. I also don't care about numbers matching as most of the car doesn't match now. What else is different between a vert and coupe? The bird cage different at all?

Lastly the other thing I was thinking was just getting rid of both and buying a driver C3 or C4.

thanks

If you do end up selling the vettes, I would be interested in the 69. Keep me posted on what you are doing. Thanks!
