Default My Flex-o-Lite set up

Damn! the pic didn't work

This was for the guys who were asking about electric fans. So they can see how clean it looks. Not physically clean but you know...LOL

How did you mount it? Did it come with mounts that fit without mods or anything else? The universal mounts that most of these come with just dont work well. What model number is it also.

Sorry guys I didn't have a PC for a few days. The mounting tabs bolted right to the shroud bolt holes with very little tweaking. The thermostat is the adjustable one that comes with the flex-o-lite fans. Temps stay at 180 for normal driving. In traffic it will come close to 200 with the A/C on.

The only up grade I would suggest is a 100amp alternator. I would never hit 200* if I had a better alt.

Price in the Summitracing with thermo is @$350

Off the line torque is a big improvement and gas mileage was up too.

Looks very good. I've been thinking about going with electric fans myself, but just haven't had time to do so. What's the part# for those?

Yes that is correct FLX-410. The price jumped about $100 in the past 5 years but its worth it I was able too hide the thermostat down the drivers side fender next to the radiator. I'm pretty sure it's the probe type that slides in the upper hose? I forget, it's been over 5 years. I can get my car down to 160 if I change out the thermostat but I'm running fuel injection (Crossfire) so the idle will come up sometimes. I run a 190 thermo now.

If you have an 80 or older vette I strongly suggest a 100amp alt. if you run A/C. The fans will run with the old Alternator but at night with the headlights, A/C, radio, ect,... You'll see that volt gauge look very low

My 82 has an old 70amp and it is maxed out under heavy load conditions but the car will not overheat but it will creap up to 210-220*

GOOD LUCK Everybody And keep those electrical connections clean, tight and shrink wrapped!!!

Remove that chunk of belt driven HP Robbing smog pump and run another one in its place !

2's always better than 1 right ??

I keep the smog pump because I was still going through inspection in New Jersey back then. Now, I'm just too busy, too lazy and avoiding a check engine light

My NAPA 100amp alt. is sitting on the shelf and is all ready to go if the stock one craps out. As of now that little sucker just hangs in there. When I changed the battery to an Optima red top my alt seemed to be happier but for how long
LOL

Thx for posting your info and results hug. I'm looking a resonable conversion to run Gen II and other motors without a fan clutch. $350 is very reasonable but hoping to find a salvage conversion like from a Gen 4 Camaro or something.

Got your info ready on file now.
Thx again for responding.

That's CoolI'm glad I could help. I tried getting fans from other cars but it seemed everyone had a special curve or bump in the shroud that made it look like $hit...
Also if you look close you will see the flex-o-lite fans have a very soft round seal that bumps up perfect on all 4 sides.
Good Luck
