Default Rear Brake Light Always On

I just replaced my steering column with a rebuilt column. I didn't notice any issues until I drove my 1980 Corvette today. I got home and noticed the outer tail lights (brake) were on after turning the car off. I have to disconnect the battery for the lights to turn off. Would this have any kind of relation to replacing the steering column or is it just a new wiring/short issue? If anyone has any advice, I sure would appreciate it!

follow the brake peddle and you should see a pressure switch maybe up by the collum. make sure thats plugged in. if you look at it, it should be pushing on the switch when at rest. if not...adjust it.
And get a neg disconect for your batt

Switch was connected but needed adjusting. Thanks Sniperdiver37, You are the best! Saved me a major headache. What would we novices do without hard core Vette enthusiasts like you?
