It finally happened, my hood release cable broke. I was able to remove the egg crate grill on the side and contort my arm up and finally release the hood. Man was I worried.
A while ago someone posted a couple of photos with a fabricated emergency hood release. At the time I thought about installing something like that but never did. Now it’s time.
Who ever posted those photos could you repost them. I don't want to go through this again. Thanks.
Here you go. These are just the inside of the old cross cable. I slid them into the outide of the clamp that holds the cross cable and laid them down the firewall.
before anyone give me shet, the blue stuff is gone...

Thanks Avette4me, but my system is different that yours. On my 1970 the cross over cable and release lever is on the hood. I was hopng to get the photos that someone posted a while back showing a release system mounted to the hood. Thanks anyway!!!
