Lars paper will probably cover it all, but one tip from me
I was doing my tie rod ends. I found that the cure for them is take out the cotter pin and remove the nut. Then flip the crowned nut over and put it back on leaving about 1/8th inch of space. That gives you a better target to hit with the hammer. It doesn't matter if you beat it all up because the tie rod ends have all new parts
