So I rebuilt my enging. A 1980 5.7L 350. The original engine called for 8 degrees of base timing at 700 rpm. So now that its rebuilt what should it be set to?
Here is a list of the new parts:
Comp cams Camshaft kit with an intake lift of .479 and exhaust of .465
also comes with timing gear with chain, lifters, and springs to match.
Edelbrock performer heads with 70cc chambers.
edelbrock performer intake
Edelbrock 600cfm carb
So what do you think the base timing should be and at what rpm?
