I know I've brought this up before, but its driving me nuts, so don't be mad at me. :)
Anyway, I want a convertible(c3 of course). What I'd like is one with the '80 nose and rear on it(I think those look awesome for some reason, plus they are pretty affordible given their lack of origionality). I actually have found one. My question is. What would you do? Keep what you've got, or go after what you want. Actually moving up to the car I've found, wouldn't be to difficult. It's also a 4 speed a/c car. Apparently it started as a '75.
What would you do? I really need to think about this. A convertible is what I dream about, a coupe is what I drive, now's my chance to drive my dream.
Hard to pass up a vert. Depends on the $$ involved and the sweat equity I had in mine versus what the other one was going to take. If it's your dream setup, go for it . But check it closely a coupla of times before putting your dollars down.
I should also mention I currently have loan payments. The main purpose of this loan was to establish credit, which means my parents cosigned. Im past 6 months, which means I should have some credit established. Selling my vette would give me enough to pay off my loan(and some), and get my parents account freed up(they used it as a backer or whatever its called). This means if I need to take out another loan I can do it in my name only, getting my parents free of my finances, which would be better for them and me(helping my credit grow). If I did this, and when I got another car, I would sell my VW, and give all that money to my dad to save. This money would be safty money, in case I needed emrgancy money for something. I have done a lot of "figgurin" and the money I got for the VW would pay a year and a half(or two years) of payments for the loan I would get to get the 'vert. Also, the payments would be so low I could do pay each month with lunch money, my current loan payments are pretty high(the loan I would get, the payments would be about 1/4th of what they are now, but would last a little longer). Which would mean, if I ran into problems finding a job in charlotte, I'd defanitly be covered long enough to find one.
Thats not the only reasoning behind looking at other cars(obviously), but its a very important aspect to me.
So thats the finances behind it. Now it comes down to what I think is weisest, and what I want more.
Get wht you are going to be happiest with. i like keeping things close to what came from the factory if it's in really good shape but after that everything goes. i like the nose better than the 75's as well.
