Default 68 Factory Shocks?

I started taking abpart my front end.

Anyway... the shocks I removed are Red, they are Delco, and say Heavy Duty Big D Shock on them. They are still in real good shape. I don't think they are factory issues, I just want to be SURE they are unwanted before I throw them away. (I think I recall a sale at Sears years ago when I bought 4 - but I forget if it was this car or not)

So can someone verify fo rme that there's no way these are '68 (or any C3) factory issue shocks?

The original shocks in 68 were semi-gloss grayish blue in color and stamped on the bottom with "Delco Remy Pliacel" and a date code. You are safe to toss them

Pulled mine last week, and they were the originals(from a 68) Definitely not red,(more of a rust color), and are dated just above the tube weld on the bottom are stamped Delco and were gray like Cape said. No way they are the stock shocks.
