Default Idles really fast

My 75 idles at about 1500 after it warms up and the carb idle adjustment won't slow it. I think the throttle plate may be gummed up. I tried carb cleaner but no improvement. I may need to rebuild it.

My question is, will running the engine with the high idle speed hurt anything until I get it fixed. Other than the idle issue, the car runs great.

No it shouldn't hurt anything. Is the choke opening all the way? It sounds like it's staying on the fast idle cam. Use carb cleaner and hose down the choke linkage on the right side of the carb.

Make sure the secondaries are closed, as if off seat it will be impossible to correct by adjusting the air screws.

Are there any air leaks at the gasket or ports? Check the fast idle screw, see if its hanging up. I had one do that. Also like they sugeest the fast idle cam.
