Default After the Radiator Flush, questions on temp sending units & gauge

I completed a rad flush, new hoses, new sending unit & stat, everything seems to be working fine except the temp gauge. On first trial run the needle pegged at 155 and also flickered. The I noticed on the passenger side head above #6-8 plug another sending unit with very loose connections. I repaired the connections and now the gauge pegs at 155 with no flicker. My question is what type of sending unit is this on the passenger side, is it related to water temp? IR guns show temp in range at 180 degrees. 1970 350. w/o air.

The sender on the passenger side is for the emissions control system (smog stuff) not related to the indication system.

Your low reading is typical of poor quality aftermarket senders. Put the original back in.
