76 w/ 350, AT.
I can't get my 76 to turn over in park or N. Not a sound w/ key in start position.
I have power to starter, power to S post on solanoid with key in start position. Pulled starter and it checked out ok. The fuse links look good. Battery is charged, lights work. I must be missing something?
What can I check next? Ideas?
Sounds like a bad solenoid but you need a solid ground to go with that power to the starter. Make sure the neg cable ground at the frame is clean and the ground cable at the pass motor mount clean at both ends.

Sounds as if the power is coming through the neutral switch (unless the power to the S term is coming from somewhere else ) or the power coming from the purple is in miliamps and doesn't have enough amperage to fire the solenoid. This is where a 12v testlight has advantage over a meter.
Reach down there with a short screwdriver and short out the s and the power lug. If it turns, either the solenoid or not enough amps to the s terminal.
Turns out there was not enough juice to starter. Wish I had used a volt meter before I removed starter. At least I was able to clean up underside of car.
