On my '71 before I put my new engine in I changed the heater core, which means I had the dash apart. After I had the engine in I started it and set the valves before hooking up the brake booster to big fitting in the back of carb. It's the bigest fitting being that I had to plug the hole in the Air Gap Intake, because the carb. covers it. Once I plug up the brake booster and started the car, the wiper door opened and won't close. The wipers work. I never had any problem with it before. Any ideals????
I have an idea, although it is a vague, ill-formed idea. I knocked a hose off of a solenoid under the dash which caused an audible hissing noise (as the hose sucked vacuum) and the wiper door raised. Do you have any audible vacuum leaks? You may have disconnected one of the hoses that sends the control signal. MJ
Except mine fell off and was conveniently hanging by the hoses under the steering column. That's how I knocked the hose off - with my foot! I tied it up to keep it away from the pedals. MJ
