Default 82 Exhaust question

Im in process of working on an 82. Im ready to install the exhaust but are wondering is there suppose to be a exhaust flange doughnut, or does it just seal metal to metal?

thanks

There's a donut on my 80, but the manifolds changed for the 81-82 models. Check the assembly instruction manual (AIM). If the donut was used, the AIM will show it and list the old, original part number.

No, I don't believe that 81-82 used any donuts. GM stopped using them on the heat risor in the right hand manifold in 75 and stopped using them on the left in 81, when they went from cast manifolds to "tubular headers".
