Both wiring schematics I have for 1968 show two wires connecting to the positive side of the coil: a yellow wire from the starter solenoid, and a white-red-black wire that is supposed to originate from the passenger side firewall connector to the back of the fusebox. The yellow wire is straightforward enough, but I cannot find the second wire anywhere. Am I chasing a ghost here?
I have a NOS 69 harness that the yellow (one going to starter) is tan and the other wire which is the resistor wire going to the bulkhead is black and says "resistance do not cut" in red and then again in white. You just never know !
Found it! It is indeed a tan colored resistor wire (some kind of fiber insulation over the tan/yellow plastic insulation inside). NOW I'm all set. Thank you very much for your speedy assistance
