Well, now I know that I really don't have a factory TI setup. What I have is a module mounted where the points normally would be. It has a label on the side that says "Ingitor LS". The rotating 8-lobe cam on the distributor looks like a standard points type. Perhaps this is actually an aftermarket points replacement device?
There are only 2-wires coming out of the distributor; red & black. Should I connect the red to the + side of the coil and the black to the - side of the coil/
You have a Pertronix ignitor, both wires go to the coil red=positive (+) black=negative (-). I would run factory resistance wire with standard Ignitor ignition (9-10VDC while running.)
Hey Solid,
Thanks for the info. I just replaced the entire wiring harness with a set from Lectric Limited. There is a special yellow, nylon covered wire that goes to the + side of the coil that might be the resistor that you speak of. I'll check it out once I get it running again.
