Can I please see any pictures of your Alternator brackets for those of you using the standard configuration Shorty Headers? I have a 350 ci with aluminum heads that have holes in the factory locations. I also have a pair of cheapy stainless steel shorty headers (the quality if very nice for the price, though.).
The factory bracket I have uses the cast iron ex. manifold for two of the bolts and then extends out to the water pump housing where it meets the upper adjusting bracket.
I think the bracket that I am thinking will work might be for the later 70s small block and uses the front holes in the head to attach to.
Also, anyone with air conditioning on their small block, I need to move the compressor up 1" max. to work with the headers. Do you know if there is clearance with the stock sm block hood and would the belt interfere with anything else if it is only moved higher 3/4-1"? The motor is out of the car right now so I cannot measure anything right now.
