Default Help select headers for GMPP ZZ383

I'm working on selecting the headers for my ZZ383. The original long hookers that came with my vette are 1 1/2" dia tubes to a 3" collector.

My new 383 with the GMPP AL heads use a 1 3/4" D tubes. I really don't think the 1 1/2 hookers will work correctly. So what are my choices?

I have a 4sp car with the Z bar mechanism.

well, I used my hooker side mounts on my zz4 and they seem to work . I used the D gaskets on the engine side and the regular gaskets on header side. I matched them up and cut out any thing that didnt line . I also ground a few spots inside the headers that did line up so good . Those sidmounts were going on no matter What !

Hooker sidepipes are 1-7/8" primary. Most small blocks are 1-5/8" primary. Totally different beast.

The OP would be fine with a 1-3/4" primary like the Hooker Super Comps.

Steve,

I looked at summit for the suggested Hookers, but they listed quite a few. By chance, would you know which ones? I want to make sure that I don't need to tweak the drivers side to allow for the z-bar.

All the Hooker sidepipe headers are the same design. It is just the finish/material that is different. I would recommend going stainless or if you want ceramic, buy direct from Jet Hot.

Called Jet-Hot and got the price on the headers with the discount.

BIG QUESTION: what would the difference in performance be between 1-3/4 versus 1-5/8 primaries? Just asking because the 1 5/8 are alot cheaper....

Thanks
