Questions about harmonic balancer
changing balancer on my 78 corvette 350 original engine . Ordered one on line and recieved yesterday.New balancer is same size 8in. diameter but is only 1.25in wide around edge mine is a little over 1.5in ,there is also a considerable weight difference. Question is Will It Still Work or should I search for exact one? Also where can I get exact one?And finally is it worth paying extra for high performance balancer ?

The replacement I have on my 78' is 1.25 also (I think it was a GM "service replacement" part). Been on there for years. I assume the heavier one would eliminate more vibration, but I can't tell the difference.
