Default rear window defogger electonic control

does anyone know the location of the rear window defogger electronic control? the trouble shooting manual shows one in the circuit but does not show the location.

What year are you asking about?

I'm not familier with any separate "electronic control" in either the 77-80E or 80L-82 heated rear window systems. I don't know much about the earlier forced air systems, but I think they were nothing more than a switch and a blower motor.

In the 80-82 systems, GM referred to the whole switch unit in the console as a "Window Heater Control". This may be what your looking for. The console mounted on/off switch itself controlled the defogger and contained the transitorized timer delay circuit.

replaced the switch, fuse is good, heating grid looks good, all connection are ok, could it be the high speed blower relay?

On a 77, the whole rear defroster grid is controlled by the switch in the console, which includes an on light and a timer circuit.
