Help! My '79 brake lights and headlights quit working at the same time I first thought it might be the headlight switch so I replaced it to no avail. I'm told it is probably the fusiable link but I can't find one. Any help on locating this or any other ideas as to what may be wrong would be greatly apperciated.

You buy them at most auto parts store; Auto Zone, etc. Read on the package it will tell what load it will handle.

Sorry, what I meant is I can't find it on the car. I purchased a laminated wiring diagram but it doesn't have a legend on it and I can't seem to figure out how to read it.

Your fusible links are down at the starter. The link for the headlights and taillights are not the same. If you blew both you shouldn't have anything in your car working.

Ok that blows that idea. Everything else is working but it seems to be a voltage problem not a ground problem. I don't have any voltage going to the brake switch, I can run a 12v jumper to the positive side of the switch and make the brake lights work. Also when I turn the headlights on all the parking lights come on but there is no voltage going to the headlights.
