Default Oil Filters - What do you use?

Please correct me if this subject has been beaten into the ground, but a number of years back, I read in Car Craft or Hot Rod that there was an AC filter for truck use that was over 1 quart in capacity. The PF454 or other parts store stuff seems so small. I looked into a PF2232 which has a much finer screen, 8 micron IICR, and holds a quart of oil. It has a 15# bypass which is probably bad for our engines, but again, I am not sure.
I like the idea of running the biggest filter I can, as long as it doesn't hang lower than the pan.

Ideas?

PS - both BB and SB, as I maintain several.

I like the K&N #3002 which is the 1 quart filter. I believe the Mobil 1 is the same filter.

K&N for my max motors. I sure do miss the old AC PF35L synthetic media filters, they were some of the better deals around at around $7 a piece.

KN 3002 or equivalent NAPA Gold. Both are good filters.

Just curious I called the local GM dealer the other day and they still stock the PF35L filter. I was surprised when they told me they were $17.00 each! Is this no longer the filter that contains the synthetic material that has a 12 micron filter rating or is it no longer manufactured to this spec?

On my 540, I use the K&N HP-6002, 2 qt oil filter

I really like their filtering ability while still flowing quite well. And inside, I was impressed with how well they are made.

...I use either the PF-1218, my well stocked PF-25 or the WIX.

...love the WIX cause it's still made in the USA. It even has a "heavy feel" vs the other filters.

Is the K&N HP-3002 oil filter higher than the stock filter ?
Right now I am using FleetGuard LF653 ( 1 quart ) and I can't use a higher filter ( headers clearance ).
Summitracing says the K&N is 5.520" height.

NAPA Gold is Wix. This unit is roughly equivalent to the old Delco PF-35.

Local Advance stores have a sale on 5 quarts of full synth valvoline oil with a K-N filter. Got the 3002 filter and oil for mine.
