Default 1975 headlight switch removal

Pretty basic question but I can't figure out how to remove the headlight switch. Does the bezel unscrew from the nut and if so what's the recommended way to loosen it?

If not then .. what?

Thanks in advance

Theres a special tool made to remove the nut, assuming you pulled the drivers side dash out, or at least far enough to get at the swtich, you have to take the **** out first, then youll see the two groves where the tool goes. Its a pia sometimes and the aftermarket ones dont fit that great.

The bezel is held in by the nut.

Driver's dash is out .. I don't see where I'd apply a tool if I had it. In fact, I'm sure I don't know what I'm looking for but I don't recognize the nut.

This is all about the dash lights not working. I'm guessing since the fuses and bulbs are good that I have a rheostat problem on the switch. Any other suggestions for troubleshooting the light problem are appreciated. I'm not a mechanic but have no problem taking things apart and figuring out what I can .. but very detailed and step by step stuff is greatly appreciated.

I have the entire interior disassembled at the moment .. except for things like this switch that I can't figure out.

First you need to pull the headlight on/off **** out of the switch itself to see the nut. On the switch there is a release button that will allow you to pull the **** out of switch, once its out youll see the nut behind it.

It Is a right hand thread so turn it counter clockwise to loosen.

Default 1969 headlight switch

I installed a new bezel on the switch.
The nut would only catch a few threads. When I installed the ****, it would not catch. After a couple of try's the switch came loose. Darn.
Did I not match it up properly when attaching the nut., or is the bezel to thick?
Any input would be appreciated. At least I did check some on the dash lights.
Thanks in advance of your input

If memory serves me right, there is a button on the switch behind the dash.

Push the button and slide the **** and lever all the way out.

Then you can get the nut and remove the switch.
