I just picked up a 1979 L-82, but the engine is screwed. The exhaust valve on the no. 6 cylinder struck the piston and is bent.
A buddy of mine has a great 350, but it's a late model Vortec engine. He is willing to let me have it for dirt cheap. It was dynoed at 400hp and only used long enough to break it in. The question I have is will this thing bolt into my car and up to the TH350?
Is there anything else I would need to know before I buy this engine and try to drop it into the car? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I also know where I can get an older 4 bolt main block with vortec heads that is freshly rebuilt and putting out 380hp. Would this be a better option/fit for this car?
Any opinions on the matter would be awesome. Thanks!!

Funny thing-in 20 years someone is going to be pissed that the car doesn't have the original engine.
