Default Window regulator brand recommendation

The gear teeth wore off of a regulator that was replaced last year. Of course it is two weeks out of warranty and there is no good-will for this stuff.
Anyway, I've seen regulators at Willcox and Mid America (even on sale!), but would like a recommendation on a brand that will last longer than one year! That is

Thanks!!

Well...since no one has replied...I'll throw in my $.02 !

Even the cheapest POS regulator shouldn't strip the gears in 1 year....something else MUST be wrong.....

Those teeth are knarly....I just can't imagine under normal conditions them stripping...

I haven't seen the system...so I can't be sure - but it sounds like something is really not right there...

Let us know if you discover anything...
P.S. - I used an Eckler's replacement gear...drilled out the old rivets and tac welded the new one in place....been working for 5 years now...

I was thinking the same thing. At first I thought it was motor problems. The tech had me reach under and feel that the teeth (at one end of the gear) were worn down.

The previous owner had the regulator replaced just over a year ago. I figured I'd put in a good quality regulator and new motor (since O'reilly's has them for $57 and a lifetime warranty) and call it a day. The previous motor stopped working one day and a tap with a hammer fixed it. I don't want to worry about the motor's pieces being damaged in any way due to the regulator gear's teeth wearing out.
