quick question on kickdown setup

quick question on kickdown setup
I had my tranny replaced with a summit unit at a local shop but I have no kick down passing ability. The shop said that the kickdown gear was plugged so it wasn,t installed? I called summit and they said they plug it to keep the dirt out. Where is it located on the TH 350 tranny so I can hook it back up? Oh yea my speedometer now reads 90 mph when cruising at about 65?

Never mind I found out why,& how. The shop showed me a card that was attched to the detent cable spot that was plugged reading "Do not remove this plug. This trans is designed to work without a kick down cable." I had the old speedo gear installed back into the new unit and the mph dropped 10mph at hwy speed 2700rpm @60mph. It does seem strange that it dosn't need a kickdown cable. I'll give summit a call later.

Nope. I have to downshift to 2 to juice it. Question is still being worked on with summit. I got two different responses so far. :crazy:
