I had the car out for a drive today (about 20 miles). Just before I got home, I had a 'clunk/pop' from the left rear wheel as I pulled through an intersection - I thought I might have run over a stone or something, but I didnt see anything in the rearview. As I pulled into the garage, I heard two more of the same sounds.
With the car on jackstands, car in gear and parking brake on, the left rear wheel can move about 1/8 to maybe 1/4 inch. The shaft to the wheel does not move.
Is this a bearing problem? or something else?
I did have new tires put on yesterday - same size as had been on (245R60-15). I was in the shop when they were put on - nothing out of the normal happened when the tires were changed.
check the wheel .take it off .look at it to be shure that they got the wheel back on right .put it back on .grab the wheel at 6 and 12 try moving wheel then try at 3 and 9.

Thanks - I did take the wheel off and put it back on, just to make sure everything looks right as far as the lugs being on right and nothing else jacked up. Everything 'looked' fine.
The movement isnt an 'in and out' wiggle. The wheel can be rotated approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch, back and forth. This rotation does not have any corresponding movement of the shaft to the wheel. The hub in the center of the wheel rotates as well.
The wheel on the right side does not do this.
