Default Help me with my Big Block intake selection

I need to replace the intake manifold on my 468 CI big block. The car is a 74 4 speed car, and is intended as a street car.

Here's the specs:

.030 over 454

Heads ported, 2.19/1.88 valves.
Roller Rockers

10.3 : 1 Comp Ratio.

Cam: roller hydraulic
Duration: 276/280
.050 Duration 226/230
Cam Lift 314/320
Valve lift .534/544

Present carb Holly 770 Street Avenger Vacuum secondaries

I need to replace the intake anyway, since the DPO (Dreaded Previous Owner) bubbaed up the water temp gauge tap.

What manifold would you put on this engine ? Again, this is a performance street engine, so mid range power/torque is a Good Thing.

THANKS!
John

I'm not familiar with the amount of clearance w/ a 74 hood vs. my 69 hood so I'm not sure how to answer your question. With the stock 69 BB hood the only aftermarket intake choice I had was the Edelbrock Torker II, which was not the best choice even by Edelbrock's own techs, and that's why I changed to the L-88 hood. Hopefully somebody else will know what else you can fit under your hood.

OK, given that info it would be hard to beat the intake listed in my sig. Strong dual plane design with good power right off the bottom up to 6500 RPMs. The other one that comes to mind is the Weiand Stealth which is very similar.

AirGap (as seen in Les's first post sig), unless you want/need carb heat, in which case I'd suggest the Performer RPM.

Yep, RPM air gap since you have the L88 hood....You will have to use the L88 drop base air cleaner and 3" filter though.

I should have enough clearance, since it's a "cowl induction" type L88 hood (you can kind of see this as the dark area kind of seen though the windshield in my avatar photo. I'll go read the info on the Performer RPM....
