Default Convertible window adjustment

Hasa nybody had any success in making thier C3 windows go up a bit higher. It is not the stops but the regulator which is limiting travel. I just finished the new top install and the side glasses go up to about 3/8" short of the correct location to seal on the weatherstrip but are parallel to the strip.
Thanks
Ernie

Roll up windows? Have you tried to reposition a window crank to check for additional travel?

This is no quick job. take your time and follow the assembly manual.
I just did mine but did it before replaceing the top. The frame needed ajusting as well. I spent all weekend adjusting and readjusting to get the right fit.
The Assembly Manual doesn't cover the frame adjustment, thats trial and error. Maybe it does but I couldn't find it. By lowering the frame in the back that brings the upper weather strips down farther

Might want to try lowering/adjusting the top frame first.
It's much easier.

Best way to adjust the windows is to install a hardtop and align the windows to its rigid/fixed structure. Then remove the hardtop and adjust the soft top frame to allow the seals to hit the tops of the windows. Finally, install the new soft top.

I just fixed a similar problem with mine on the passenger side Today. With Your window all the way up grab the glass and see if you can lift it any higher. If You can then Your not reaching the stops and have to take the tracks and regulator out and clean the tracks good. I used electric contact cleaner, a small screw driver and lots of paper towel. I got the info off other threads in this Forum on how to take it apart. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Remember to grease and clean all the slides. I used synthetic grease. It was so gumed up I may do the other side this winter.Good luck and hope this helps.
