Here in Indiana some of the forum members set up a Dyno Day for us, many thanks. I have been getting my car ready for today with everything against me.
1) Working late at the office so the only time I had for the car was late at night.
2) Engine wont run well over 5000 so I find distributor problem, Wednesday night my brother take the dist into work and his techs weld and recut it to perfection.
3) I put it back in and find the starter soleniod is cracked, Friday I get a new one and put it in.
4) I put the distributor in about a tooth off, no problem I fix this.
5) Car wont turn over and the starter is smoking, I should have put in a whole new starter in the first place, this is at 7 am day of the dyno.
6) @^$%^%CC&^%&*F^ I am so pissed I have now cracked the new solenoid.
7) I will not be making it to the dyno.
Sorry but I had to rant the wife is tired of hearing it. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

Re: All went wrong and now no dyno. (BLT-71)
Ever seem to have one of those days when..........
Yeah I usually have one bout all the time, but I found a way to get out of it.
Let me tell you bout.(Smoking In the Boys Room)
It never fails when I want to do something like this I wind up in a bind and miss the show. I started my power steering pump rebuild yesterday, scored a bushing in the pump only to find out that the bushing has been discontinued. Now I think I may have to spend money either on a rebuilt pump or buy another used one and rebuild it.
Sorry to hear that, man. However, the dyno day event lasts for quite a while. I don't know how many of you were going, but figure on at least 30min for each car. Believe it or not, you may actualy still have plenty of time to fix it and get down there with time to spare before the last car is run. Just a thought :) If not, there is always next time. I am currious of how the 282 runs for you. I will be putting mine on the dyno at the end of May to see how my new cam(282s),port matching and higher compression compare to the old setup.
I am going to slow down and do a few things before I work on the starter. I am just a little too pissed and cold to mess with it at the moment. It's friggin 30 degrees in the garage. I do miss living in the warmer climates.
I am going to fix it this afternoon and retime it. And then go out a run the thing hard and blow a few fart pipe cars off the road.
The 282S runs great but I have not ran it well into the 5000 + range. It pulls real strong compared to my original LT-1 cam, it was all top end.
