1968 Passengers side mirror
Well after further research I guess the question I need to ask is, has anyone installed right side mirror using the well nut kit they all come with. If so were you happy with install and does it feel solid.Any issues over time with this install. Thanks.
P.S. I don't see any way to install a plate on the inside without cutting holes in 2 layers of steel inner panels.

They work just fine. GM has been using them for 50 years. The TI units and voltage regulators were mounted with them in the 60's. It's the only way the passenger side chrome mirrors and luggage racks were ever installed, and the rear compartment security curtain in 78-82s is installed using them too.
