Default Tires for 74

I'm new to the Vette ownership and absolutely love the car I purchased. I bought a 74 Vette (frame on restored) with many new parts and many original (actually) - was wondering what the best tires for this car would be in the forums opinion? I know tires are subjective, but input would be greatly appreciated nevertheless...thanks in advance.

....you didn't say if you wanted the "factory original" size, but that was a GR70-15 back in '74, which today translates to a P225-70R-15 tire(or however it's worded).

The GR70-15 or the P225/70R15 equivalent is the only size authorized by Chevrolet. Others have used 60 series tires with no problems but some have had clearance issues and the tires rubbed...especially on the front. It seems to be a car by car thing. Your money...your choice what to buy.

As far as tire brand, you'll find as many opinions as there are tire brands. Do some research...whatever dealers and brands you happen to like, compare ratings against price and go with you feel is best.
