Default Electric fan relay wiring

I am wiring up my Proform Electric fan and Derale adjustable electric fan controller and need some advice. I want to use a manual override switch inside to turn the fan on an off but with my limited electrical experience can't seem to figure this out...

I have the positive wire from the fan going to the Alt lug for power, the larger red wire from the controller with a 30 amp fuse is connected to the negative wire on the fan.

I have the controller grounded to the frame and the small yellow wire to an IGN on the fuse pannel.

The small green (Override) wire for a manual switch is wired to a toggle under the dash on one post and a neg ground on the other.

Should this not work?

Any suggestions, clearly I am doing something wrong.
I have not checked to see if the fan turns on at engine temp as this is a new rebuild and I want cooling prior to running it any lenght of time.

The fan controller is adjustable and you can have it turn on whenever you want. It may take a little messing around to get it set exactly where you want it, but once it's set you don't have to worry about it.
I considered an override myself but it seemed like just one more thing to go wrong....

Do you want the overide to turn the fans on or off. If you want off to work on the car, I just pull the fuse (inline 30amp) if you want it on just use the A/C wire with a toggle switch

My goal is to be able to turn the fan on with a toggle, prior to the sending unit turning the fan on...
I don't have AC in the car, so there is no hot wire that I am aware of...
Do I need a hot wire on the toggle or is the green override wire hot?

Electrical is not my strong suit... UGH!

No, that should not work.

You need to supply 12v on that line to turn the fans on.

I would hook it to the same IGN power that you used for the yellow wire unless you want to be able to turn them on without the car running.

Perfect, yes, those are the instructions that came with the relay, I just was not sure if the Green override wire was a netural or a hot lead... that must be my problem, I have two netural leads hooked to the switch and nothing is happening when the key is on... I will change out the other lead to the Ign fuse and see if this works...
