So I'm finallying getting around to redoing all of the vacuum hoes in the '71 and I notice that the PCV is on the wrong side of the car (According to the AIM it should be on the driver's side). NO biggie I think I can swap the PCV and the breather/oil fill plug right? Nope the PCV valve cover has a baffle in it and the other does not.
So I guess Bubba swapped the valve covers? (left for right etc.) The breather also won't fit on the passenger side as it would hit the wiper window actuator.
So do you see any reason why it couldn't stay where it is and I could do some creative hose routing to connect everything back up? Or should I get a smaller breather and swap the valve covers?
Re: PCVs, valvecovers and bubba...oh my! (Monkeywrench)
I just redid my 71 roadster back to factory correct. The guy I purchased my car from had the original valve covers but they were not on the car. Both of mine have baffles beneath the hole. The drivers side is where the pvc goes. The p side has a 90 degree L that connects to the bottom of the air cleaner. What kind of breather are you using that get in the way of the wiper mechanism?
Re: PCVs, valvecovers and bubba...oh my! (John's Shark)
John: It's about 3-4" high and since the hole on the passenger's side is in the back by the wiper acuator it won't fit. I guess it COULD fit but it would be a pain to get in and out.
Corellian:
See above why. I guess I could always get a smaller breather. Why is it the simple things that don't come to mind?
